Nancy Swiezy started her event career at now legendary
destinations Maxwell’s Plum and La Petite Ferme. As an actress in Manhattan during the late 70’s, Ms. Swiezy used her ground floor experience to develop knowledge of fine cuisine while she honed her palette atthese outstanding restaurants.
By the early 80s, Ms. Swiezy had transitioned to a position with Cusinart teaching cooking classes at Bloomingdales flagship store in New York City. Additionally, she freelanced as a food stylist and on site catering chef. Her culinary know-how took her to the Learning Annex where she taught two informative classes: How to Plan a Wedding on a Shoestring and Catering from Your Kitchen.
Her expertise as a culinary event chef led to catering numerous weddings. However when an opportunity to become a full time chef for God’s Love We Deliver came about; she accepted a sous chef position.
At God’s Love, Ms. Swiezy worked closely with Martha Meier, a Society Special Event Decorator. Through this collaboration, Ms. Swiezy was able to work on big budget projects from society weddings to corporate events. Martha was Marcy Blum’s preferred decorator at the time. Ms. Swiezy considered it an honor to work and train with the renowned Ms. Meier.
Given her broad-based experience in the event design/culinary field, her skill set led her to a position with BizBash Media where she rose to become Associate Publisher with the Media Company that chronicles the New York special events industry. In 2006 She joined Tenation Potel & Chabot as Business Development Director.
She left Tentation Potel And Chabot to produce a Wedding for Robert and Blain Trump’s son at the Marble House in Newport R.I. under A Newport Affaire. Recently back in NYC has designed and produced the décor and flowers many charity Balls and galas such as: The George Washington Ball, The New England Society, The Fund for Park Avenue and The New York Horticultural Society.
